Economic Stimulus Tax Credit

As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed in February 2009, first time home buyers who purchase a property before April 30, 2010 are eligible for up to $8,000 as a tax credit and all other buyers are eligible for a $65000 dollar tax credit.

Colorado Housing And Financing Authority (CHAFA)

CHAFA will loan you the down payment, against your future IRS tax credit, allowing you to put as little as $1,000 down.

Colorado Housing Assistance Corporation (CHAC)

CHAC has first time home buyers programs that allow you to put as little as $500 down.

Aurora Home Ownership Assistance Program (HOAP)

The city of Aurora offers first time home buyer assistance for low income and moderate income families.

Veterans Administration Programs (VA)

Veterans and active military personnel are eligible for VA loans, which require no down payment.

Other First Time Home Buyers Programs

Denver, Aurora, Adams County, Arapahoe County, Jefferson County, and Douglas County all offer various first time home buyers programs.
